Mine works just fine really. While it's too bad the newer games won't work, their too expensive for me anyway. The only real issue I've had with mine was it had problems with Rage of the Dragons but that is because the phantom basically makes your machine a 1-slot mvs board and ROTD is incompatible with some 1-slot models. Oddly enough when I plug the AES directly into the wall rather then through a power strip ROTD is much less likely to crash. On many occasions I have been able to play for my typical 2 hour gaming session without the game having any problems. I would get one if you're taking the AES route since it can obviously save you a lot of money and if you're adament about getting the new stuff then save up or wait for the price to go down and just grab the AES carts. When you first get it it will be a little tough to insert into the carts but it gets easier with use. One final thing is I strongly recommend getting some kind of protective casing for the phantom which will also make it incredibly easy to put in the AES. I myself bought a sawed off lower half of an AES cart which works perfectly but atm ebay doesn't seem to have any for sale.
